Is there more than one division?
The league currently has five divisions. Division 1 would be the highest rated players.
How are individuals placed in divisions?
Our league goal is fun, competitive balanced play so that on any given day/match a
team and player can enjoy a competitive match and have an opportunity to win. We all
have a limited playing shelf life as Villagers and it is more fun when we play people at
comparable skill levels which is why we offer five divisions.
Each season our divisions have been more competitive than the season prior. The goal
is to place every registered player in the division where the player and teams have a
50% win/loss percentage.
To that end, it is proven to use competitive updated performance analytics versus
antiquated one-time ratings clinics.
League division placement is determined using the following:
Historical league win percentage in your prior division;
Data on average points per game scored by you;
Current DUPR rating based on your last played division. Note tournament play
DUPR scores are given more weight than a non-tournament DUPR score; and
Experienced division leaders and captains have proven thus far to be the best
determination of a successful placement where information may be limited
(such as a new player or a new Villager).

What is a ladder league?
In the ladder league you play as an individual. You do not need a partner. You will play
with players that have a similar winning percentage to you. The goal is to result in good
competition on a weekly basis. Each week that you play you could play with totally
different people or some of the same people depending on who signs up and what their
winning percentage is. It may take a few weeks for a player to get to where they
“should” be in the ladder. Score more points and you will likely move up to tougher
competition. Score fewer points and you could move down to players that have a
similar skill level to yours.
Do you have subs in a ladder league?
No. You play as an individual. The beauty of the ladder league is that you can sign up to
play as much or as little as your schedule permits.
Will everyone who signs up get to play in the ladder league?
The league hopes that everyone who signs up can play but we only have so many courts
so it is possible we may have to limit the number of players if the attendance is higher
than we have court space for.
Is the ladder league mixed?
No. Men and women play separately.
